Virtual Media Services

Virtual Media Centre (VMC)

European Athletics and our Broadcast Partner EBU have designed a Virtual Media Centre – a browser-based platform – to allow all journalists, member federations and athletes to watch the live action and simultaneously access all the information that is normally available to media in a physical Media Centre.

The Virtual Media Centre will be opened shortly, and you are invited to explore the platform at your earliest convenience:  https://icdn.video/ebu/istanbul23

Those who are not registered yet, please start by following the steps below.
• Go to https://vmc.ebu.ch/
• Login or create an account at vmc.ebu.ch
• If you have problems with your registration, please contact choquard@eurovision.net

Services Available

The Virtual Media Centre will offer a wide variety of services, useful to both on-site and remote media, such as:
• Watch live streams (Integrated Feed and 3 x Isolated Production Feeds for field events),
• Watch live athletes’ flash interviews,
• Access Event Information and Publications,
• Access the Photo Gallery and media banks (limited to registered users),
• Chat with others.

Virtual Mixed Zone – Interview Request

Besides having access to all the services available in the Virtual Media Centre (as described above), remote journalists will be offered preferential access to the “Virtual Mixed Zone”. This service will allow remote journalists to request and download (limited to rights distribution) interviews.

The possibility to conduct interviews and engage with your athletes will be available through the live Flash Quotes position in the Mixed Zone. Requests will have to be submitted in advance to: ophelie.bouverat@european-athletics.org or via the chat option directly in the VMC platform.

Feedback

Our aim has been to create a single online location where media, regardless of their location, are able to access a wide variety of services simultaneously, and have at their disposal working conditions as similar as possible to actually being at the Championships.

We would very much appreciate your post-event feedback on how the Virtual Media Centre functioned and have your suggestions for potential future improvements.

For any further information please contact media@european-athletics.org.
