Official Airport and Welcome Services
Humberto Delgado/Lisbon Airport will be the official airport for the competition. Lisbon Airport is the nearest to Oeiras (about 25 km). Please kindly book your travels accordingly. The LOC will ensure the transfer between this Airport and Oeiras.
Upon arrival at Lisbon airport, the teams will be met by the LOC Staff. The Airport Welcome Desk is situated at the airport and will be open according to travel schedules.
After collecting luggage, team members will be escorted to the official buses and shuttles by the Airport Welcome Desk staff and taken to the team hotel. Transfer time takes between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on the traffic conditions.

Arrival By Train
There will be no Welcome Desk at the main railway station in Lisbon/Oeiras. Teams arriving by train will be met by LOC representatives and taken to the team hotel, according to the arrival times given in the final entry system.
Arrival by Road
Teams arriving by road are kindly asked to go directly to their hotel, where representatives from the LOC will welcome them.
Visas should be obtained before leaving your country, from Portugal Embassy or Consulate, well in advance to ensure all the procedures in due time.
Participants who require a visa should contact the Local Organising Committee (LOC) as soon as possible (until 14 January 2022) to obtain a special invitation letter and visa application information.

The following information shall be included in the request:
- Full name (first name and family name as shown in passport)
- Function in the Team (e.g. athlete, official)
- Date of Birth
- Passport Number and Passport Expiry Date
According to the European Athletics Competition Regulations, the participating Member Federations are responsible for taking out their own insurance to cover the risk of illness or injury of any member of their team when travelling to and from the European Athletics event and during the event itself. Please take the necessary steps to fulfil these requirements well in advance.
Transportation between the team hotels and the various venues, including official/social functions – if any, will be guaranteed by the LOC shuttle service.
Regular bus service will be provided between the team hotels, training and competition venue, social functions, TIC and the Technical Meeting.
The Transportation Desk, which will also serve as an Information Desk, will be located in the lobby of the official hotels and will be open from 03 February (from the first team’s arrival time) to 7 February (by the time of the last team’s departure), at the following times:
- 3 February 14:00 – 20:00 (depending on arrivals)
- 4 February 09:00 – 22:00
- 5 February 09:00 – 22:00
- 6 February 09:00 – 20:00
- 7 February 09:00 – 20:00 (depending on departures)
Teams will be asked to provide full travel details in the final entry system. Teams will also receive a departure form, which should be completed and returned to the LOC Information Desk at the teams´ hotels, at least 24 hours before departure, especially if there are any changes to the preliminary confirmed details.
Departure times of the shuttle buses from the hotel will be provided and displayed at the hotels´ Information Desks.
All outstanding fees, charges and possible other expenses must be settled with the cashier. On the day of departure, the LOC Hotel Manager checks the rooms together with the team leaders.
In case there are team members departing separately from the original team, these shall, whenever possible, use another team´s bus transfer to the airport. Dedicated transfer for such persons may be arranged in advance upon previous agreement with the LOC and at the Clubs’ costs.
