Official Airport and Welcome Services
The official airport is Humberto Delgado – Lisboa International Airport (LIS) which is located 129 km from Leiria and 100 km from Fátima. The average transfer time from the airport to the teams´ official hotels is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, depending on the traffic conditions.
Porto Airport (OPO), 197 km from Leiria and 226 km from Fátima, may be used as an alternative airport, upon previous agreement with the LOC and at Member Federations’ costs.
Upon arrival at Humberto Delgado – Lisboa International Airport (LIS), the teams will be met by the LOC which will provide adequate welcome services.
After collecting luggage, team members will be escorted to the official buses by the LOC welcome desk staff and taken to the teams´ official hotels.
In case you need any support, please report to the welcome desk located in the main exit at the airport arrivals or contact the transportation department include phone number for contact on site.
Arrival By Road
Teams arriving by road are kindly asked to go directly to their hotel, where representatives from the LOC will welcome them.
Entry Visas
Participants from the following countries require a visa to enter Portugal:
ARM – AZE – BLR – KOS* – RUS – TUR
*As defined by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 10 June 1999.
The following nationalities are exempt from holding a visa to enter Portugal:
ALB* – BIH* – MKD* – MDA* – MNE* – SRB** – UKR*
*The exemption shall apply only to holders of biometric passports.
**Excluding holders of Serbian passports issued by the Serbian Coordination Directorate (Koordinaciona uprava).
It is the Member Federations own responsibility to apply for Visas in due time before leaving their country, from the Portuguese Embassy or Consulate, and to make sure that all the documents required for the application are complete. Incomplete applications slow down the process and may lead to a visa not being issued on time.
Participants who require a visa should send all relevant details (as listed below) by 1 February 2021 to obtain a special invitation letter and visa application information. Due to the current pandemic, it is crucial that relevant information is received by the above-mentioned deadline as otherwise entry to Portugal cannot be guaranteed.

The following information shall be included in the request:
- Full name (first name and family name as shown in passport)
- Function in the Team (e.g. athlete, official)
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Passport Number and Passport Expiry Date
The invitation will be sent to you as soon as possible.
Insurance
According to the European Athletics Competition Regulations, the participating Member Federations are responsible for taking out their own insurance to cover the risk of illness or injury of any member of their team when travelling to and from the European Athletics event and during the event itself. Please take the necessary steps to fulfil these requirements well in advance.
Local Transportation
Transportation between the teams´ hotels and the various venues, including official and social functions, will be guaranteed by the LOC shuttle service.
To the Competition Venues
Transfer times between the teams´ hotels and the competition venues will be about 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

To the Official Functions
To the Press Conference, to take place on Friday, 12 March, at 16:00, at the Leiria City Hall, participating athletes will be taken by bus from the Municipal Stadium Dr. Magalhães Pessoa (Gate 2), at 15:45. The return bus will leave from the Leiria City Hall to the Municipal Stadium Dr. Magalhães Pessoa (Gate 2) by 17:15.
In what regards the transportation to the Technical Briefing, which will be held in Lux Fátima Hotel, on Friday, 12 March, at 19:00, it shall be guaranteed by the above LOC shuttle service.
A detailed specific timetable will be posted on the notice boards at the Information Desk in each Team´s Hotel.
Departure
A shuttle service will be in place for teams´ departures. The frequency of this service will be based on the departure schedule, which will be posted at the Information Desk of each team´s hotel at least 24 hours before departure.
Teams will be asked to provide full travel details together with the final entries. Team leaders will have to confirm departure details during the accreditation process. Teams will also receive a departure form, which should be completed and returned to the LOC Information Desk in the hotel at least 48 hours before departure only if there are any changes to the provided details.
In case teams´ travel plans change after the final entries closing date teams may have to ensure an extra fee to support eventual extra transportation expenses
