Arrivals
Official Airport and Welcome Services
The official airport for the European Athletics Team Championships Third League is Larnaca International Airport (LCA) which is about 70 km from the Tsirion Stadium. On the airport the LOC will provide adequate welcome services.
Upon arrival to the airport team members will be led through a separate path to the COVID-19 testing centre (located at a dedicated area of the airport) for the swab collection. Then, team members will be met by the LOC transportation manager at Welcome Desk 1 (after passport control) and further by their dedicated team attaché, at Welcome Desk 2, from where they will be able to collect the luggage and pole vaults, and later escorted to the respective team´s hotel.
In case you need any support, please report to any Welcome Desk located on the arrival hall at the airport or contact the transportation department through +357 996 586 22 (Kyriakos Michael).
The transfer time from the airport to the official hotels is about 50 minutes.
Entry Visas
The following country nationals (from the participating countries at the European Athletics Team Championships Third League 2021) require a visa to enter the Republic of Cyprus:
ARM – AZE – KOS*
*As defined by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 10 June 1999.
The following nationalities are exempt from holding a visa to enter the Republic of Cyprus:
ALB* – BIH* – GEO* – MKD* – MDA* – MNE* – SRB**
*The exemption shall apply only to holders of biometric passports.
**Excluding holders of Serbian passports issued by the Serbian Coordination Directorate (Koordinaciona uprava).
It is the Member Federations own responsibility to apply for visas before leaving their country, from the Republic of Cyprus Embassy or Consulate, and to make sure that all the documents required for the application are complete. Incomplete applications slow down the process and may lead to a visa not being issued on time.
Hence, participants who require a visa should send all relevant details (as listed below) no later than 31 May 2021 to obtain a special invitation letter and visa application information. Due to the current pandemic, it is crucial that relevant information is received by the above-mentioned deadline as otherwise entry to the Republic of Cyprus may not be guaranteed.
According to the European Athletics Competition Regulations, the participating Member Federations are responsible for taking out their own insurance to cover the risk of illness or injury of any member of their team when travelling to and from the European Athletics event and during the event itself. Please take the necessary steps to fulfil these requirements well in advance.

Transportation of Equipment
Each team is responsible for organising the transport of its poles until its arrival in Larnaca International Airport. Upon arrival to the airport athletes are responsible for taking their vaulting poles where LOC team members/team attachés will assist with the check in. Vaulting poles and/or bag of poles must be clearly marked containing relevant information (tag of the name, country, event, number of poles per bag) to ensure that they can be easily recognized and do not get lost. Vaulting poles will then be transported to the Tsirion Stadium (main Stadium) by the LOC where they will be kept in a locked store and from there to the training/warm-up/competition venues where they will be at the athletes´ disposal.
After the competition, the LOC will take the vaulting poles from the Tsirion Stadium to be transported to the airport along with the corresponding teams. Poles and/or bags with poles must be clearly marked as explained above to ensure prompt delivery.
Departure
A
shuttle service will also be in place for team departures. The frequency of
this service will be based on the departure schedule, which will be posted at
the Information Desk of each team hotel at least 24 hours before departure.
Teams will be asked to provide full travel details together with the final entries. Team leaders will have to confirm departure details during the accreditation process. Any changes to the provided details shall be communicated to the LOC (Information Desk at the team hotel), at least 48 hours before departure.
