Official Airport and Welcome Services
The official airport is Humberto Delgado – Lisboa International Airport (LIS) which is located 129 km from Leiria and 100 km from Fátima. The average transfer time from the airport to the teams´ official hotels is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, depending on the traffic conditions.
Porto Airport (OPO), 197 km from Leiria and 226 km from Fátima, may be used as an alternative airport, upon previous agreement with the LOC and at Member Federations’ costs.
Upon arrival at Humberto Delgado – Lisboa International Airport (LIS), team members will be met by the LOC Welcome Desk staff.
The Welcome Desk, located outside the main exit at the airport arrivals lobby, will be open according to travel schedules.
After collecting luggage, team members will be escorted to the official buses by the LOC Welcome Desk staff and taken to the teams´ official hotels.
Arrival By Road
Teams arriving by road are kindly requested to go directly to their hotel, where representatives from the LOC will welcome them.
Entry Visas
Participants from the following countries require a Visa to enter Portugal:
ARM – AZE – BLR – KOS* – RUS – TUR
*As defined by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 10 June 1999.
The following nationalities are exempt from holding a Visa to enter Portugal:
ALB* – BIH* – GEO* – MKD* – MDA* – MNE* – SRB** – UKR*
*The exemption shall apply only to holders of biometric passports.
**Excluding holders of Serbian passports issued by the Serbian Coordination Directorate (Koordinaciona uprava).
It is the Member Federations own responsibility to apply for Visas in due time before leaving their country, from the Portuguese Embassy or Consulate, and to make sure that all the documents required for the application are complete. Incomplete applications slow down the process and may lead to a Visa not being issued on time.
Participants who require a Visa should send all relevant details (as listed below) as soon as possible to obtain a special invitation letter and Visa application information. It is crucial that relevant information is received as soon as possible as otherwise entry to Portugal may not be guaranteed.

The following information shall be included in the request:
- Full name (first name and family name as shown in Passport)
- Function in the Team (e.g. athlete, official)
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Passport Number and Passport Expiry Date
The invitation will be sent to you as soon as possible.
Insurance
According to the European Athletics competition regulations (1010.9.), the participating Member Federations are responsible for taking out their own insurance to cover illness or injury to any member of their party when travelling to and from and during the European Throwing Cup. Please take the necessary steps to fulfil these requirements well in advance.
Local Transportation
Transportation between the teams´ hotels and the various venues, including official functions, will be guaranteed by the LOC shuttle service.
To/from the Competition Venues
Transfer times between the teams´ hotels and the competition venues will be about 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

To/from the Official Functions
In what regards the transportation to the Press Conference, to take place on Friday 11 March, at 16:00, at Municipal Stadium Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, in Leiria, participating athletes shall use dedicated vehicles.
The LOC shuttle service will be used by the team representatives for the Technical Briefing, which will be held at Lux Fátima Hotel, on Friday 11 March, at 19:00, in Fátima.
A detailed specific timetable will be posted on the notice boards at the Transportation/Information Desk in each Team´s Hotel.
Transportation Desk
A Transportation Desk, which will also serve as an Information Desk, will be located in the lobby of each team´s hotel and will be open from Wednesday 09 March (from the first team’s arrival time) to Monday 14 March (by the time of the last team’s departure), as follows:

Departure
A shuttle service will also be in place for teams´ departures. The frequency of this service will be based on the departure schedule, which will be posted at the Transportation/Information Desk of each team´s hotel at least 24 hours before departure.
Teams will be asked to provide full travel details together with the Final Entries. Team Leaders will have to confirm departure details during the accreditation process; however, teams will also receive a departure form, which should be completed and returned to the LOC Transportation/Information Desk at the hotel at least 48 hours before departure, but only if there are any changes to the provided details.
In case there are team members departing separately from the original team, these shall, whenever possible, use another team´s bus transfer to the airport. Dedicated transfer for such persons may be arranged in advance upon previous agreement with the LOC and at the teams’ costs.
In the event teams´ travel plans change after the Final Entries closing date, teams may have to ensure an extra fee to support eventual extra transportation expenses.
